Careton Matthews Sr. has zealously represented injured victims and defended those accused of criminal wrongdoing,  since 1996 and has built a successful trial practice due to solid preparation, and skillful persuasive advocacy in the courtroom.  With over 28 years of experience, Attorney Matthews has been recognized for his skills and accomplishments by his colleagues, judges, jurors, clients, and many in the courtroom who have simply watched him in action.  Attorney Matthews has achieved not guilty trial verdicts in every county within Metropolitan Atlanta.  He has gone to trial and prevailed in some of the most serious felony cases that a person can be charged; including murder, armed robbery, drug trafficking, RICO, rape, burglary and DUI.

Attorney Matthews has represented numerous clients, including those with high profile media exposure, other attorneys, local law enforcement officers, businessmen, high school and college athletes, rappers, physicians, accountants, real estate executives, as well as those who attract less notoriety.

Attorney holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from Morehouse College having graduated in 1990.

And he obtained Juris Doctorate law degree from Atlanta’s John Marshall Law School.

 

When Attorney Matthews is not working, he and his lovely wife, Tanya who have been married for over 30 years enjoy spending time together traveling, exercising, mentoring and forever learning.
